Hanne Bruun har udgivet bogen  ”Dansk tv-satire – Underholdning med kant bogens bagsidetekst:

Hvad er satire for en form for humor, og er det underholdning? Hvordan har satiren udviklet sig i dansk tv og hvorfor? Hvorfor gør tv-satiren grin med almindelige mennesker, og hvad blev der egentlig af den politiske satire i dansk tv? Hvorfor bliver tv-satiren næsten altid sendt på DR2?

Det er nogle af de spørgsmål, som Dansk tv-satire. Underholdning med kant besvarer. Den belyser og diskuterer tv-satirens programudvikling siden 1968, og den fremhæver den danske tv-satires særlige karakteristika. Den ser på, hvordan tv-satiren er blevet produceret, og den beskriver og modstiller to produktionskulturer, der har præget dansk tv-satire og dermed de programmer, seerne er blevet tilbudt.

Bogen er det første, større samlede bidrag om en dansk tv-satire. Den bygger på en omfattende genreanalyse af den danske satiretradition i spændingsfeltet mellem tradition og fornyelse. Den bygger desuden på interviews med producenterne af tv-satiren, fra tekstforfattere og komikere til redaktører og kanalchefer. På den baggrund diskuteres konsekvenserne af udviklingen for dansk public service-tv’s underholdningsprofil og de udfordringer, programtraditionen står overfor i et konkurrenceudsat mediemiljø.

The IT University of Copenhagen seeks ASSOCIATE/ASSISTANT PROFESSORS IN MOBILE AND DIGITAL COMMUNICATION AND SOCIETY

The IT University of Copenhagen invites applicants for associate and/or assistant professorships in the areas of 1) mobile communication and society and 2) digital communication and society starting in summer 2012.

Candidates for the position in mobile communication and society should be actively working in this area. This can include work from the tradition of communication, sociology, psychology, or a similar discipline using either qualitative or quantitative methods.

Applicants in the area of digital communication and society should be engaged in interdisciplinary work with a background in communication, sociology, psychology, human computer interaction or a similar discipline. Approaches can include either qualitative or quantitative methods. Possible areas of expertise include but are not limited to: interpersonal communication and media use in the digital era, methodologies in the study of communication, the study of social networks, transnational communication and the politics of social media, the study of information and communication technologies in daily life.

The IT University has established a bachelor program in Digital Media and Design as well as a masters program in Digital Design and Communication. In addition the IT University has a well established PhD program as well as activities in scholarly research in the area of digital media, digital communication as well as mobile communication and society.

Two full-time, permanent positions are vacant as Associate Professor in Media Studies at the Department of Media and Communication, University of Oslo. The positions come with 47% of working time set off for research, 47% for teaching and the rest for administration. The Department is one of the foremost in media studies in the Nordic region and has a stated policy of international recruitment of faculty. We welcome applicants with ambitions towards research and teaching at an international level, and offer the attractive benefits of the Nordic welfare system.

“Media Studies” here in a broad sense means the interdisciplinary study of the modern media, their forms and contents, institutions and uses, their political, social, cultural and aesthetic contexts, with a basis in the humanities and the social sciences. The holders of these positions will undertake and disseminate research, and teach within the domains of media studies. For one of the two associate professorships there are extra requirements in quantitative methodology. Applicants for this position must demonstrate academic experience and proficiency in the use of quantitative methodologies for media research. The applicant must be able to teach these at Master and PhD levels.

The Department of media and Communication (IMK) conducts research and teaching and dissemination of knowledge on the modern media and their impacts on people and societies. IMK numbers 18 full-time faculty members, and houses a ph.d programme with some 30 candidates. IMK offers a bachelor and master in media studies, a master in journalism, as well as an English-language master programme.

PhD Position for research project on ‘Social media and local immigrant integration policies’

A message from Erasmus University Rotterdam: PhD Position for research project on ‘Social media and local immigrant integration policies’

The department of public administration of the Erasmus University Rotterdam invites applications for a 4-year 0,8/1,0fte PhD position. The PhD position will be part of an international comparative (FP7) project on ‘Social media monitoring and decision support tools enabling sustainable integration policies and measures’ (or ‘UNITE-EUROPE’). The PhD research involves an analysis of local integration policies and the use of social media by migrants in about ten European cities. In addition, the PhD is expected to contribute to several courses of the department of public administration.

Applicants should have completed a Masters degree in political science, public administration, policy sciences, sociology or another related discipline. The applicant should have good comprehension of public policy analysis as well as be familiar with the most important issues in migration research. In addition, the applicants should have a very good apprehension of English; apprehension of Dutch, German or French can be an advantage as well. The expected starting date for vacancy is November 1st 2011.
