Full professor in Film and/or Media Studies – Department of Media, Cognition and Communication

At the Section of Film and Media Studies a full professorship in Film and/or Media Studies is available. The position requires teaching and research in film and/or media studies. The applicant selected is furthermore expected to lead and develop research at the department within film and media studies, to be active in applying for external funding for research, to supervise MA-thesis and PhD. students and to take active part in exchange and communication with external partners and the public.
The section for Film and Media Studies at the University of Copenhagen is active in teaching and research within a broad range of media and with focus on three main research areas: film studies, media studies and digital media and communication. The research is characterized by interdisciplinarity, including both humanities and social science. Applicants for the full professor position must document qualifications at full professor level in one or more of the three main research areas: film studies, media studies or digital media and communication.
Applicants must document:
- Original scientific production and qualifications on a high international level
- Experience with supervising and teaching on all university levels within at least one of the three main areas of the section
- Experience with research management, administration and evaluation
- Experience and success with applications for external funding

As well as a CV, applications must include a complete and numbered list of publications stipulating which works the applicant wishes to be taken into consideration. The maximum number of publications submitted is twelve. These must be submitted in triplicate. Once the deadline for applications has been reached, the Dean will set up an expert assessment committee to consider the appointment concerned. Remuneration and conditions of employment as per the current agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the appropriate trade union. Assistant professors receive a non-pensionable supplement of DKK 47.742,19 p.a.
